Detailing in your North Ogden driveway, under Ben Lomond.

North Ogden sits under Ben Lomond Peak, with Washington Boulevard running through the middle of town as SR-235 and North Ogden Canyon Road climbing over the Divide toward Ogden Valley. The General Plan names four neighborhoods, Hillside, South Town, Old Town and Coldwater, and puts downtown at the corner of 2700 North and Washington. A Fresh Tracks professional comes to whichever one you live in and details your car, truck or SUV right where it's parked, with the monthly plan to follow.

Cherry Days runs every year around Independence Day with a parade down Washington Boulevard, and the Stump in Centennial Park pours free artesian well water.

North Ogden's four seasons, told by the wheel wells.

Washington Boulevard gets brine, the Divide's trailhead roads are dirt, and the lake sends its dust over on a windy spring day.

  • Winter

Salt brine on Washington Boulevard before a storm and salt during it, because Washington is SR-235 and UDOT pre-treats its state routes. Past the last houses, the Divide's trailhead roads are dirt, so a winter hike means packed snow, mud on the thaw and gravel in the wheel wells, and the sledding hills at Barker Park and Wadman Park send slush home on the floor mats.

  • Spring

Lake dust on the glass after a windy day, because the Great Salt Lake's shrinking has left bare lakebed upwind of the Wasatch Front, and the state's own dust-event study is a study of spring. After a rain, the Divide lot is dirt, so the wheel wells come home packed with mud.

  • Summer

A fine tan film on the lower half from the dusty bench at the Divide and Pioneer trailheads, where the lot and the Bonneville Shoreline Trail are both dirt. Bikes on the rack drip trail grit down the tailgate, and a dog off the Ben Lomond trail carries cheatgrass seeds into the carpet.

  • Fall

The Ben Lomond trail gets its heaviest use from summer into late fall, so trail dirt keeps coming home through October. Then the first storms bring the Divide's gate closures, decided with UDOT, and the brine is already down on Washington Boulevard before the snow arrives.
